  Client: Senior Services
Senior Services is the largest non-profit agency serving older people in Washington. Established in 1967, the agency serves over 50,000 seniors and their families each year through an integrated system of quality programs and services.

  Summary

This well-respected non-profit agency has excellent methods in place to develop their people.  Their attention to inclusion and understanding the learning and communication styles of their people is likely many steps beyond their peers.  But creating systems around their new understandings was lacking.  As the organization grew both in size and number of locations, it became more difficult to ensure that these methods were being consistently applied across and down each management tree and at all locations.  If the environment in any area wasn’t up to expectations or if goals were not met, it was difficult to catch the issues quickly enough to not feel the pain from the misalignment.

The logical next steps for the organization were to
Create a system of evaluating performance and
   Automate that system

  Challenges

Quickly put together a series of manual steps into a process that will fit…
     and be used.

Streamline while automating the process so that, in addition to the benefit of now
having useful information about people collected in an actionable way, the new
system easy for the Director of HR to use.

Accomplish the work through virtual training and support

  Results

After a limited pilot, the Director of Human Resources was ready to launch the first agency-wide Annual Performance Review process, online with Abrige PERFORMANCE.  Since the workflow and features keep in mind that new users will need to save, print, and re-do as they go through it the forms, there is limited support required by HR beyond the initial training of trainers.  No new form or process is introduced without accurate planning and thoughtful creation of the forms and process.  To implement a new process, and especially a review process, is a feat.  Our kudos go to the Executive Director and Director of Human Resources for their strong direction of, and dedication to, this community service organization.

With this new process in place, Senior Services is positioned to better support training and development needs at least each year.  As the process expands PERFORMANCE is there to support them with more frequent reviews, surveys, process checks, assessments and more.
